Out there … The Toast and Roast Dinner to honor Joe Pisani, former editor of the Greenwich Time/Stamford Advocate, took place last week at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency. A multitude of colleagues, friends and dignitaries honored Pisani for his dedicated years of journalism and contributions to the news industry and beyond. There to roast him were former colleagues Durrie Monsma and Joy Haenlein; Father Richard Futie and Ernie DiMattia who initiated the event; famed columnist Bernie Yudain; musician/attorney Ted Yudain; retired AP Special Correspondent Hugh Mulligan; Monsignor Stephen DiGiovanni; Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, First Selectman Peter Tesei who presented Joe with a proclamation, and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal who presented Joe with a citation. His family, wife Sandy and daughters, Joanna, Julie, Chrissy and Dana, surrounded Joe. It was truly a wonderful night for all and a fantastic tribute to a man well deserved of it.
