A Photo Journey in Greenwich…Visiting the Black Forest Pastry Shop on Liberty Way

At the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 55 William Street West, Byram Shubert Library….A BOOK & MEDIA SALE  ……….  details on the sign below…

The above sign is on the Corner of Sound Beach Avenue and Arcadia Road.

The above sign is at the same location adhered to the crosswalk post next to the bank.  As a photographer this sign might be intimidating for some unknown psychological reason.  The B&W graphics suggest white blood ooooozing from the camera.  My camera doesn’t have white blood, but since it’s Halloween I’ll go with it, ooooh sooooo frightening!!!  Regardless I went on to photograph the following images.  My camera admitted privately in therapy that it was scared, and my lens have difficulty today with it’s auto focus.

My young photographic assistant traveled with me to LIBERTY WAY near Greenwich Avenue………..

I told her about one of the Best Chef’s in the World owning the Restaurant across the street.  I also promised her that I would take her and her Mother there to celebrate the acceptance of my very first Patent.

Also across the street from Liberty Way is the recent retail location shopping place of Britney Spears.  She should have gone to my Brother in Law’s store at Bruce Park Sports which is in this area.  Tom ( or Tommy) Bisanzo has been the owner for decades and is joined by his Son Mark now.

But what we came to LIBERTY WAY for was the update of the National Poll for the Cookie sales of our two presidential candidates at BLACK FOREST PASTRY SHOP.

The Star Trek like entrance doors slide open automatically as you approach into an elegant quaint and intimate shop.  Could I have said anything nicer?

Our two star opposing presidential candidates ready to be consumed by the public.

Oh My!                                  Obama  31,516        McCain  22,614

If Obama is half Irish, which he might be, or part Irish like I am,  could his name be spelled like this?…..  O’Bama

Well, anyway…..here are some other cakes under the glass (really plastic) at the Black Forest….

Wow!  Yes this is a cake too…and it’s is ugly and seems to have a twin of sorts in the window below…

They make amazing looking cakes.  The artistry in these display cases is amazing…everywhere I looked there was something else beautiful to photograph.  And I dont know if this is true or not but someone told me that Disney bought the rights to the song, ‘Happy Birthday’ and it cannot be sung on film without Disney’s permission.  Does anyone know if that is true in anyway?

Other amazing cakes…

The cappaccini in the window are actually pasteries!……….

And those are mice nugget pasteries on the right, I’m going to try one right now…..one sec….ok……uhuh……..it’s little like a Yodel without the white cream center.

Oh, and on the counter is a Coin/Card Stand to input a modest amount (25cents) in support for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  I recognized the logo because by chance I was photographing it at a benefit last weekend for the Nan Jam II.  Nan survived cancer three times with the help from this societies’ support and from her sister’s stem cells.  The Nan Jam event was a benefit celebrating Nan’s survival and supporting the research for the Cancer fighting society.  There are probably a few Billionaires in town who could be Angels by sending some dough over there?

I had a quarter in my pocket that I earlier put in my pocket thinking of what am i going to do with it….   I asked my Assistant if she would like to put it in the slot…which by the way …  that stand up card reminds me of those 25 day Christmas countdown calendars with the windows that get opened up each day.

And finally this is the box of 1/2 pound of cookies that we purchased…one of the ‘Yodel’ mice are now gone.

Before the day was over I revisited the location in Cos Cob where I saw the two Turkey’s…one suspected to be Henrietta…they were still there…the construction worker was not……..  5 minutes later they walked out of sight…..   into the woods.
