Heads up commuters, the northbound Amtrak passing through Old Greenwich around 8:00am this Friday morning suffered the loss of its engine and is stranded on the local side of the northbound track. While walking Dillon this morning, I spoke to the conductor, engineer and a few repair technicans who were outside of the train examining the connection with the rescue engine which had already arrived and been put in place.
The men explained to me that they had been there for about half an hour after losing engine power.
They anticipated some delays as their train was blocking the northbound track but I did see southbound trains moving through.
