Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Sidney Freund made the decision earlier today to close all Greenwich Schools tomorrow, Monday.  With about 50% of the Town still without power or telephone service, getting the word out to parents could be an issue.  Town officials don’t want kids walking to closed schools or waiting for [...]

Here are the leaders in the GPD Captain straw poll, in alphabetical order, T. Berry, J. Heavey, M. Kordic, M. Marino.  There is still time to pick your “final four” by clicking here.

In the early results are close with the top six (in alphabetical order) being Lieutenants T. Berry, Gustovich, Heavey, Honulik, Kordick and Marino.

The following information from the Greenwich Police Burglary Clearance Squad was disseminated by the Community Impact Office of the GPD.
Residents are asked to be aware of a current series of burglaries that are occurring predominantly throughout the back country areas of town.
These burglaries are occuring to unoccupied homes during the early evening [...]

With the promotion of four GPD Lieutenants to Captain to happen shortly, many are speculating who the “final four” will be. The straw-poll lists all 13 GPD Lieutenants in alphabetical order, even though some did not apply for the Captain positions, and others were eliminated in the first round of testing or withdrew.
