The name “Charter Oak” stems from the local legend in which a cavity within the tree was used in late 1687 as a hiding place for the Constitution charter.The oak was then blown down in a violent storm about 150 years later and made into a chair that is now displayed in the Hartford Capitol Building. Is this the remains of a Charter Oak  next to Charter Oak Lane in Byram?  This former tree has a funky look to it.  Its sort of disturbing and like a piece of sculpture.  A wire is attached to the the top and leads to another telephone polE

At the Glenville Service Center near the Firehouse and Glenville Pizza lots of pumpkins for sale.  And if your teeth look like this, you should consider braces….I recommend Dr. Wong in Cos Cob, he’s the best!

Bamboo is all over Greenwich in various places.  It makes a great privacy screen.  There are about 1500 different types of Bamboo, but in Greenwich it seems to be the same variety, it’s Winter hardy and bends over in heavy rain and ice stormS
