The Polo action is usually in the distance. The crowd is on one side of the enormous sunny green grass field. The crowd is lounging in small party groups of 4 to 8 people. in lounge chairs and on spread sheets... and in an offensive forcefully intrusive loud scary charge huge animals crowd you while a hard baseball flies through the air at medical emergency speeD

What is the SYMBOL of GREENWICH. Few people probably think about this. For the Unite States, it's the Bald Eagle that won in a vote run-off with the Wild Turkey. But for Greenwich, what are our symbols? General Putnam on horseback charging or escaping down the dangerous Putnam Hill...It's our most emblematic image...it's courageous, exciting and dangerous. I've seen the actual hat of General Putnam...it has an hole in it from a British slug that miraculously missed his head. So anyway...what images SAY "Greenwich" ...besides a "$" sign? A Bentley, Rolls, Mercedes, Mansion, Yacht, Pink and Green dressed Couple? Or this emblematic icon on the hood ... a Pheasant? As a boy I saw Pheasants at Tod's Point.
