According to elected officials who have been to the polls, voter turn-out in Greenwich seem light. In hotly contested races throughout the state in both parties, turn-out was expected to be heavy. A low turn-out could lead to upsets in close races.
Their are Republican primaries for the 4th Congressional Seat, for Governor, for Lt. Governor, for Attorney General, and for U.S. Senate. There is also a primary for Governor in the Democratic party.

The Democrat contender are: Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy and our Greenwich resident Ned Lamont.
On the Republican side:
There is a very close race between Stamford resident and current Lt. Governor Mike Fedele against Greenwich millionaire Tom Foley. Upstate resident Oz Griebel is also running in that race.
In the U.S. Senate race the Republican candidates are the designee, Linda E. McMahon, of World Wrestling Federation fame; former Congressman Robert R. “Rob” Simmons; and, Peter Schiff. For Lt. Governor, Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton is pitted against Lisa Wilson-Foley.
For Attorney General, Martha A. Dean, the party designee, is running against Ross Garber.
For Congress to challenge Congressman Jim Himes, two “tea party” candidates, Rob Merkel and Enrique Raul “Rick” Torres, are running against the party endorsed nominee, State Senator Dan Debicella.
