Riverside Resident Enters University Honors Program Early
Christian Geske, son of David Geske and Elizabeth Champlin Geske of Riverside, CT and a junior at Greenwich High School, has been selected to participate in the Resident Honors Program at the University
of Southern California in Los Angeles.

This fall, Christian is one of twenty-eight students, selected from a nationwide search, to participate in this highly competitive early entrance honors program. Christian has been awarded a Deans Scholarship from USC.
At USC, Christian will be enrolled in the Thematic Option Program, an interdisciplinary honors program which has been nationally recognized as one of the finest honors programs in the country. In addition, Christian will begin his major studies in Mathematics in the USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences.
As a student at Greenwich High School, Christian was named a Clark House Scholar every semester for
his outstanding grades and received awards for his achievements in math, creative writing, German, and
music.   Christian studied viola with Julliard’s Kenji Bunch, played the viola in the Greenwich High School

String Ensemble, and co-founded the Meno Mosso Trio, a performance group created to provide music to community audiences.   He was captain of the Greenwich High School freshmen tennis team, played on the Junior Varsity tennis team, and was a member of the school’s Math Team, Habitat for Humanity, German onor Society, and Model United Nations.  Christian is also in the running for National Merit Scholarship.
During the past two summers, Christian volunteered as a researcher for Audubon Greenwich, where he
studied the correlation between birds and tree cover and the incidence of Mapleleaf Viburnum in newly
regulated habitats. He also attended Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY),
where he studied discrete mathematics and cryptography.
“RHP is an excellent opportunity for high school juniors who are academically ready for the challenges
of college and who are mature enough to get a head start on their college career,” said Dr. Pennelope Von
Helmolt, director of the program.
Greenwich High School provided outstanding support for this talented student, both through academic
preparation and strong recommendations.
