Riverside residents behind SBVFD (Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department) in the parking lot with Fireman Jeromy Buccolo filling sandbags. Jeromy grew up in Rowayton, lives in Stamford on the OG border and volunteers at SBVFD. I'm told that about 20 cars have already lined up and taken sand at this pile since First Selectman Tesei's telephone announcement at 5:30PM. In fact Peter Tesei was at this location early before I got there. Shovels and a 4 foot pile of sand with empty sand bags await you and will be there all night and tomorrow if you want to stop by at any time. Grab what you need, the rain is coming!
