Free Oldies Concert Tonight is a GO!

Hoping for a break in the weather, Greenwich Police Silver Shield representative Lt. Tom Keegan informed OurGreenwich.com that the concert tonight is “a go.”   Silver Shield President James Bonney suggested that people bring chairs to stay up off the wet ground.

The once-postponed will start at 7 p.m. at Roger Sherman Baldwin waterside park on Arch Street — right off Exit 3 on I-95.

Many are expected to bring their picnic dinners and blankets to this waterside venue to enjoy the “Twilight Time.”  The concert features the latest incarnation of The Platters whose hits, (besides “Twilight Time”) include “The Great Pretender”, “Only You”, and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.”

Also, featured will be the Chiffons.  Remember their hits?  “He’s So Fine”, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, “Why Do Fools Fall in Love”, “One Fine Day”, “It’s My Party”,”The Loco-Motion”, “Da Doo Ron Ron”, and “Sweet Talkin’ Guy”?
