I got a robo-call yesterday morning from Carol Walsh, principal of Central Middle School saying that she was leaving for greener pastures at the end of the first semester. But “in an effort to provide leadership continuity and to minimize the number of building leaders at Central Middle School in a given year” and “in order to assist in duties resulting from administrator vacancies at the central office” she’s going to be working down at Havemeyer building starting in September, taking on responsibilities in the Professional Learning and Human Resources departments.
The search for a Principal for Central Middle School currently underway. Mr. Roger Stenz – retired assistant principal of Eastern Middle School and a 39 year veteran middle school educator with the Greenwich Public Schools has been appointed Interim Principal of Central Middle School, effective Monday, August 24, 2009.
As a parent, I find it pretty unsettling that a robocall informs me that my kid’s school principal is leaving two weeks before the start of the school year.
