Greenwich Police arrested a 17-year old Cos Cob man for the damage to the Town ball-fields at Loughlin Avenue and at Parkway School. The name of the youth is not being released because of his age.
Police said “the investigation is still ongoing with additional arrest(s) pending.”
The fields were damaged early the morning of March 15. The damage is estimated to cost $32,000.
The arrest was made after a routine traffic stop shortly after 1 a.m. on April 9. The officers from the GPD Uniformed Services Division subsequently learned of an outstanding arrest warrant for the youth for the vandalism.
He was charged with Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (2 counts) CGS 53a-115
(A Class “D” Felony) and Conspiracy to commit (Criminal Mischief 1st) (2 counts)
CGS-53a-48(53a-115) (A Class “D” Felony) and released on a Promise to Appear.
