At Least 24 Hours before Sound Shore Road is Cleared for Traffic

The Waste Water Main that broke yesterday flooding Sound Shore Road will continue to be block the roadway under the Cos Cob Railroad Bridge over that street. The street is easy to bypass for traffic. The message or public announcement left on my answer machine has not been followed up yet...I'm curious to see if it will. The last message suggest minimizing water use and I wonder if that is still the case. I'd like to be informed of the ongoing situation. And BTW, for the crew out there working in the cold difficult conditions, Thank You!

The message or public announcement left on my answer machine yesterday has not been followed up yet...I'm curious to see if it will. The last message suggested minimizing water use and I'd like to know if that is still the case. Keep those messages coming! And BTW, for the crew out there working in the cold difficult conditions, Thank You! This photo from last night at the intersecion of Strickland and Sound Shore shows the Moon (the blue light) at it's closest pass to Earth until 2012. The Moon, when it passes near to Earth is known for creating extra pressure, ie: tides. Greenwich has had 2 water main breaks, flooding around Old Greenwich School and with the freezing temperatures...expansion of water combining with barometeric pressure or 'moonometic' pressure may be the cause of these problems.
